About

My name is Luke Petach. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University. I am primarily an applied economist, specializing in the use of regional data and causal inference techniques to answer questions related to political economy, regional economic development, growth, and income distribution. My research has appeared in Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Banking and Finance, Public Choice, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, and Review of Black Political Economy, among others. Recently, I have developed an interest in stratification economics, public choice, and the economics of religion. Information about my research and teaching is available on this website.
